Two ways across the country
The northern way runs north of the Balkan mountains, partly on the Hemus motorway, through Veliko Tarnovo and Shumen. The southern way takes the Trakia motorway to Burgas and then the coast road north. The driver chooses the faster road on the day; if you want to see Veliko Tarnovo, ask for the northern way.
A stop in Veliko Tarnovo
