Tivat Airport (TIV) is so close to the town that some people think about walking. With a suitcase, a pram or a late flight it is a different story, and a car waiting outside makes the first ten minutes of the holiday easy. The road from the terminal to the centre of Tivat is only about 4 km.
Where we usually drive
Most of our guests stay around Porto Montenegro, the large marina with hotels and apartments right on the water, or near the Pine promenade in the old part of town. Others go to Seljanovo, Donja Lastva or the small coves on the way to Krašići. The driver knows the hotel entrances, including the ones inside the marina area.
Some people use Tivat Airport but stay further away. The Luštica peninsula, with Luštica Bay and Rose, is south of the airport. Kotor is about twenty minutes along the bay, and Budva about half an hour over the hill. Herceg Novi is reached either round the bay or with the short car ferry from Lepetane to Kamenari. If your hotel is outside Tivat, tell us and we give you the price for that trip instead.
In summer
July and August are busy. The airport is small, many flights land at the same time, and the queue for taxis outside can be long. A booked car avoids that. On request the driver holds a sign with your name in the arrivals hall, and if the flight is late, the pickup follows the real landing time.
For the return, ten minutes on the map can become longer when the road along the bay is full, so we usually suggest leaving the hotel about two hours before an international flight.
